Meet The Staff

Preschool Associate - Thelma Meyerhoff

My name is Thelma Meyerhoff. My husband of 40 years is Craig. We have 4 children and 5 grandchildren. I have worked at Immanuel for 22 years and started here when our children came to school here. Until then I was a stay-at-home mom doing occasion child care in our home. I enjoy reading, photographing my grandchildren and scrapbooking their pictures. I enjoy crafts, baking, nature and walking.

I enjoy working with children and believe they are the world’s most important resource. Preschool years are important learning years and should be a positive experience in their young lives. I love seeing the excitement in their faces when they have learned something new, whether it is conquering a new “hard” puzzle, writing all the letters of their name or zipping their coat for the first time. The look of pride on their faces tells it all and I hope to be able to share their enthusiasm for years to come. I hope that I can share in making a difference in their lives. I know God led me to Immanuel as an aide to Sharon, to help and support her as she ministers to His children.

“Come follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” Mark 1:17

Preschool Associate - Cindy Grim

My name is Cindy Grim. I was born in Eldora, Iowa and grew up in the Waterloo area. I married my husband Max in 1971. We had a beautiful baby girl in 1972 and named her Amy. In 1984 I worked for Wal-Mart in Cedar Falls as an assistance manager. After retiring from Wal-Mart I volunteered for the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Iowa. I also was on the Board and President of the Highland Neighborhood Association. I love to volunteer decorating the church, serving lunch at Immanuel, crafts at VBS, and Fellowship Board at Immanuel Church. In 1997 my daughter married her husband Doug. They gave us our beautiful granddaughter Addyson in 2001. She is attending Valley Lutheran which is exciting. Since 2010 I have been a substitute teacher’s aide at Immanuel Preschool. I thank God everyday for the opportunity to work with Mrs. Limback and enjoy the children daily. I pray I will be blessed for many years to come.
